Murder Charges (Dropped)

Over the years Gucci Mane has had his fair share of legal issues with some resulting in jail time. On May 10 of 2005, a group of men attempted to steal Gucci Mane’s trademark “So Icey” chain. Gucci was reportedly listening to music inside of a stripper’s house when the group of 5 men entered the house punching Gucci in the face with brass knuckles. Somehow Gucci obtained the gun from one of the men and opened fire killing one of the men before he ran out the house. A few days later, the body of Henry Lee Clark III was found behind a middle school. Not long after, a warrant for Radric’s arrest was issued and the police began searching for him.Once a warrant was issued, Gucci was forced to turn himself in to the authorities or face harsh consequences. In December of 2005, the murder charges were dropped due to coming to the conclusion that Gucci Mane was only defending himself.

Possession of Marijuana & Illegal Fire Arm (Dropped)

Although he dodged this murder charge, this would not be the last of his charges. Not long after, he was charged for the possession of marijuana and possessing an unlicensed gun exactly one day before the release of his debut album, “Trap House.”

In January of 2006, once again, Gucci Mane caught a lucky break when the police department of Georgia stated that there was not enough evidence to charge not to mention convict him of the charges. That same month he was released from jail from his previous assault charges in October of 2005 in which he pleaded guilty to assaulting a club promoter. A few years later on July 23, 2008, Gucci was pulled on a routine traffic stop just outside of the Atlanta area. The police smelled the odor of burnt marijuana, searched the car to find just what they were looking for, and charged Gucci with possession.

Violation of Probation (Served 6 months of the 12 months)

On September 14, 2008, Gucci was sentenced a year in jail for violating his probation. He received his violation of probation for only completing 25 of his 600 hours of community service from his 2005 assault charges. In the year of 2009, Gucci Mane was finally released from jail after only serving 6 months of his original year sentence.
